Hello everyone, my name is Hope McQueen M.S., and I am a new member to the DBC team.
I am a Certified Mental Performance Consultant under the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, which simply means that I work with individuals and teams on how to use their mind to improve their performance.
We achieve this through Mental Performance Training which is done in one of three ways: individual sessions, team sessions, or workshops.
In an individual session, we will sit down and have open and direct conversations about habits, thought processes, and routines. In these sessions we will discuss how to rewire them and take your performance to the next level. This may look like specifying a self-doubt and finding an anchor that reminds you to believe in yourself in order to push your limits. Every individual session will end with a challenge of how to take our conversation and apply it to your field of performance. The application is the most valuable part which is why I will push your comfort zone with these challenges to help you quickly find what works for you.
In team sessions we will discuss how different personalities can affect your ability to listen, be coachable, handle conflict, and function within a team. Typical tools that are discussed in team settings are building a mission statement, understanding different roles, leadership development, and communication styles. Team sessions are structured to allow time for discussion and tool application. It is important for voices to be heard and for the group to always walk away with an action plan.
Workshop can be held at your location or here at DBC. During workshops, the goal is to provide an in depth explanation of a specific topic ranging from motivation to stress management to leadership skills. These presentations will have time for discussion and tool application so that you can walk away with a clear understanding of how to take the research covered and apply it to your area of performance.
Elites in every field (from CEOs, to professional athletes, to first responders) are using these skills to take their performance to the next level. So, whether you are looking to improve your performance in your sport, in school, in your career, or in life, Mental Performance Training can help you.
